DescriptionLocationInstructors Have you ever encountered tenants wanting to rent a home with a no-pet policy, or a buyer interested in purchasing a condo in a pet-restricted community? Or perhaps you've had a short-term tenant bring an animal along on vacation where pets aren't permitted? If not yet, chances are, you will! Objectives: Identify what qualifies as a service dog under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Explain when Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are and are not protected by various laws. Understand how Office K-9's are classified and how they should be handled in rental situations. Learn the training requirements for a service dog. Identify the permissible questions you may ask to verify a service dog's allowance. Understand the circumstances under which a service dog may be excluded from ADA protections. Explain how an Emotional Support Animal may be accommodated under the Fair Housing Act (FHA). Know which questions are permitted under the Fair Housing Act and Section 504. She got her start in property management first as a leasing agent and assistant manager in multifamily communities in 2003 . In her early years she moved often to follow her military husband and has been in property management and licensed in three states. She will be celebrating 20 years in real estate next year. She is currently a member of the National Association of Property Managers, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, the Florida Association of Realtors, the Multiple Listing Service, RRC, and WCR. Tiea has been married to the military since 2003. She has knowledge and experience with all the aches and pains that go along with relocation.
